I requested my credit reports from each of the 3 national credit reporting companies through XXXX on XX/XX/2021 and received two of them. The one from Equifax, however, has been impossible to secure so far. I prefer to get the reports online because I find it more secureIve had issues with the mail before and they contain very sensitive information. When a consumer is requesting the Equifax report, they are asked a few questions. The answers have to coincide with the information in their report. The problem is that none of the questions applies to the person making the request and, accordingly, they have to select something like none of the above for every single one. So the company denies access to the report for security reasons this happened to me and two relatives. I then made the request by phone. After that the company sent me a letter asking for a copy of personal documents containing my address and full social security number ( see the attached letter ). I sent the documents back through Certified Mail and the company got them on XX/XX/XXXX ( see the screenshots from USPS tracking tool and Certified Mail receipt ) ; but I never received the report. I dont know whether or not the report was sent or if it was lost. They have managed to make the process of getting a credit report at least the free report harder and less secure at the same time. And, at the end, the consumer may not get it at all. A message in XXXX says we can obtain free weekly online credit reports. But I have been unable to get my report from Equifax for more than 3 months. I have contacted the company, but to no avail. The last time, on XX/XX/XXXX, they told me they didnt receive the documents I sent them in XXXX, which is obviously incorrect. The biggest concern for me is that I dont know how they are handling this highly sensitive information. Thank you for your attention.
