I filed a police report with XXXX Police Department in Texas with the Report # being XXXX on a case of identity theft with Discover Fin SVCS LLC under account # XXXX across all three credit bureaus. I had a fraudulent credit card opened in my name which I regret doing I paid this account off after numerous attempts to collect debt from me from discover Fin SVCS LLC. My information was exposed in a data breach on the dark web and with me being young at the time I didn't know that I could dispute identity theft and I thought that I had to pay this credit card even though I had my identity stolen and I had no idea about disputes. Discover had also told me that if I paid this account this account would be put behind me and be removed from my credit report and would no longer hurt me. For the past 6 months this representative and discover lied to me. I am still being affected by this fraudulent credit card that was opened in my name as this account has 6 late payments and still isn't removed from all 3 of my credit bureaus. I sent in the police report along with FTC reports to all 3 bureaus with no avail. I need the CFPB help with this situation as I have no where else to turn to.
