To Whom it May Concern : In XX/XX/XXXX I leased a vehicle through XXXX for a XXXX term. At the end of the term in XX/XX/XXXX, I returned the vehicle to the dealership located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX. I received my paperwork that nothing further was owed. Several months later I received a letter from XXXX that my lease was up and to return the vehicle. I was surprised and VERY concerned, because the vehicle was returned by the lease end date. When I called XXXX, I was advised that ( to the best of my recollection ) an employee had committed fraud on the company and the vehicle was entered into the database as not returned. I was advised, again this was approximately XX/XX/XXXX, that the matter would be taken care of. Fast forward to just recently when I pulled my credit reports, and to my shock the XXXX account is still reporting as Open with a monthly payment of {$480.00}, and a {$5600.00} balance ( see attachment. ) It is also reporting derogatory as a chargeoff, and " Comments '' are misleading, at best. While one comment states " balance owing '', another comments states " ... ENTIRE PAYMENT SCHEDULE COMPLETED FOR TERMS OF AGREEMENT. '' The fact that this account is reporting as Open with a balance and high monthly payment is going directly to my Debt to Income. That coupled with the fact that it is also reporting derogatory as a Chargeoff is causing me to be denied credit and has cost me thousands over the years in high interest rates. I am demanding that XXXX take care of this matter IMMEDIATELY.
