I have been disputing the same account with Experian for over a year now. I have disputed with them three times and submitted a previous CFPB complaint against them as well, and they have failed to correct the error on their part. I initially noticed a collection account on my consumer credit report that I did not recognize. The account was from XXXX XXXX XXXX acct # XXXX. So I submitted a dispute for validation of this account with Experian. The dispute came back as the account being verified, not validated. I contacted them requesting the required information to validate the alleged debt such as the address, phone numbers, personally talk to, method of contact etc. that they used in the process. They did not provide me with anything. I disputed with Experian again this time notifying them of the requirements that they must follow under the fair credit reporting act to validate the alleged debt that they are reporting, and again it came back as verified, not validated with none of the required documentation that they used to build into debt provided to me. I then called Experian and spoke to a supervisor who could also not find any information on how the information was validated and updated and instructed me to dispute this with the credit union instead. So I begin that process on XX/XX/XXXX. I sent them a letter via certified mail to the address listed on my Experian consumer credit report. That letter was delivered and signed for on XX/XX/XXXX. I allowed them the 30 days they are allowed by law to respond to the request however, I received no response or communication from them at all. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a second letter requesting validation of the alleged debt again wedding 30 days for them to respond, and again I received no response. I said a third and final letter on XX/XX/XXXX as a final effort to resolve this matter, informing them of my intentions to file complaints with my states attorney general, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and CFPB if they do not resolve this matter within 15 days, and my intention to obtain counsel and take them to court regarding the matter. Again there was no response. Although there is no phone number listed for the credit union on my consumer credit report, I looked them up and contacted them in the customer service Representative that I spoke with could not find the account or provide me with any information to validate the alleged debt. Under the fair credit reporting act up this account must be removed from my consumer credit report as it has not been validated and can not be validated at this point. I am confused as to how Experian has claimed to verify/validate this account considering that I have reached out many times formally and can not get so much as a response. Which is likely why they are not able to provide me with any documentation regarding that process, because they have in fact not validated or verified the account but merely sent me a form letter. I have the right to a complete and accurate credit report in the actions of Experian and their failure to obey the law have cost me time, energy, money, and stress. Given that this account has not and can not be validated Experian is now committing fraud against my person by sharing false information did they now know to be inaccurate. It is also worth noting that I disputed the same account with XXXX and XXXX XXXX citing the same causes and they promptly removed the account stating that it can not be validated. I have attached the three letters that I have sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX along with the signed return receipts for the first and third letter and both dispute letters sent to Experian.
