I had a conventional 30 year mortgage in forbearance with XXXX due to Covid 19 issues. XXXX sold the mortgage in 2021 to Nationstar now XXXX as Mr. Cooper who honored XXXX forbearance agreement I successfully completed XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX 3 month trial in XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX Mr Cooper sent me a proposal for the new mortgage which is a 40 year mortgage at the same rate as my previous 30 year mortgage The first XXXX years of the mortgage are interest only payments and then the last 30 years are conventional My opinion is this is a punitive proposal What is my recourse to obtain either a lower rate or change this to a conventional mortgage where a certain portion of the payment would be applied to the principal for all payments? Is what Mr Cooper proposing legal? I did some research and their previously named entity were fined for unfair practices with mortgages, probably the reason they changed their name. I have 14 days to respond from the XX/XX/XXXX and am not sure what are my options I am sending Mr Cooper a letter tomorrow disputing the terms of the agreement What other recourse do I have?
