Experian is reporting my XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX closed account incorrectly as settled, potentially negative with late payments. This account was opened in XXXX and was closed due to the store closure and the balance on the account was paid as agreed and never late. After I settled the balance with XXXX XXXX making all payments on time as agreed I was notified by Experian my credit score had dropped XXXX points and when I checked my Experian credit report it reported the account as closed, settled, potentially negative with late payments. I opened a dispute with Experian in XX/XX/XXXX and was told the reporting is correct and I was referred to the merchant. In XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from XXXX XXXX stating the account was being reported incorrectly, the account was settled with an XXXX XXXX, and a request was sent to the credit bureaus to remove the past due history. I have made several attempts to have the incorrect reporting changed, even after sending a mail in dispute with the letter from XXXX XXXX to Experian via certified mail.
