Consumer Narrative

This is a copy of one of many correspondences we had with XXXX XXXX starting in 2019. We had been with XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX nearly 8 hours and XXXX was in severe pain. XXXX XXXX took our drivers license and credit card and took them upstairs. We desperately needed to leave but could not without our license and credit card. We continued asking how much longer things would take and they kept running into one problem after another. We even asked for our license and credit card to be returned so we could leave, but XXXX XXXX would return to the room each time telling us that it would just be a few more minutes. We felt that we were being held hostage! We explained multiple times about XXXX health issues and told them that she was in pain, but no one would listen, and no one cared. Over 8 hours later we were finally given papers to sign. The notary continued having issues with the paperwork and when she would leave the room, XXXX XXXX would come back in with us. We purposely were never given a moment alone to talk about the contract. The documents we were signing were flipped through so fast we had no idea what we were signing or what any of it said. There was no time taken to explain anything. When we did ask questions, XXXX XXXX was there telling us that it was all information we had already discussed. We were made to believe what we paid monthly would be the ONLY expense involved. There is absolutely NO location that we are not forced to pay additional costs. We were not informed of the additional costs or fees involved and there is no way we can afford the monthly payments, additional fees, and the costs required just to travel. We have not been provided with the services or the product that we were promised. We were not provided with truthful or thorough information about this contract. We signed the contract under severe duress due to XXXX pain and our desire to leave after being held hostage for over XXXX hours. We were never told about the cancellation period until we wanted out. We were not given the opportunity to use the cancellation period as we were not able to access our account for 21 days after signing the paperwork. We were given 2 different versions of the timeshareone by the sales team and one by customer service when we tried to book a reservation. Customer service version of the plan was more inline with reality and not what was represented by the sales team. The above are all severe misrepresentations, and we continue to demand that contract XXXX be cancelled. We believe it is only fair to refund us for the amount paid on this account as it has never been used despite our many attempts.
