The company was Johnson Mark LLC " attorneys at law '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX UT XXXX, XXXX and they submitted a request to garnish my wages for a creditor called " XXXX XXXX '' and I dont even know who that is. I had paid this off and taken care of the garnishment so was not worried about that at all. I was just calling to verify the original creditor, and to give them whatever information they needed to close their case. The woman hung up on me as soon as I said I had paid the bill. Then when I called back and asked what I could provide for her to close the case she raised her voice and said it was coming out of my check ( which doesnt matter as I dont even work for the company they were trying to collect wages through anyways even if I had not paid it ). I really was just trying to verify the original creditor and give them a courtesy call and she started screaming at me and said " get off my phone!!! '' and hung up on me again. I dont care that it was paid, that it was garnished etc and felt like i handled the call as well as I could... but i do feel like it should be illegal, if it is not, for a company to be able to garnish your wages, and then not only not clarify what it is for, but scream at you and hang up on you when you are trying to clarify a debt. They contacted me a week ago XXXX XX/XX/22 and I called them back today, at XXXX and XXXX MST. I still need to know exactly what the charge is, as I am working through old debts and need to know exactly which creditor to scratch off my list, but am afraid to call back. : ( I also asked her if this was regarding a debt from " XXXX '' and she said yes, in the middle of screaming at me, so I called XXXX with another number I had hoping to get someone else and they ended up being a completely different company so the little information I did get from her, was not correct and could have led to me not paying another debt based on her statement. I am pretty horrified that when I finally try to get my debts in order, this company would scream at me for calling to let them know I am paying their bill.
