Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/2022, I opened a new checking and savings account. I created a customer log in, paid the credit union membership fee immediately, and began to set up deposits from my other financial institutions to fund my new checking and savings account. Suddenly, without warning, I was logged out and unable to access my new accounts. I immediately contacted my new bank and I was informed that I was accused of not having served in the United States armed forces. I was also accused of not being who I am ( identity ). I provided personal information to the phone banker in the security department. She began to attempt to persuade me to move on stating the Navy Federal Credit Union only accepts members who where XXXX XXXX! The website does not state anything of that alleged policy! She did not provide me my application ID, account number, or access number that is required on the security appeal form. I emailed the security department all requested documents. -appeal form -XXXX XXXX ( reason of my discharge are not required even though she demanded that ) -Drivers license copy -Proof of address ( county property tax bill ) I call to follow up and continue to be blow off and avoided
