Received an email from Chime advising me to set up direct deposit on a new account that was opened in my name. Advised that it was not me and asked them to close the account. Which they did. However, when I requested the information used to open the fraudulent account, they refused to provide without the last four numbers of my social security number, a police and identity theft report. I advised that I was not going to send my social security info through email and asked how I was supposed to report this to the authorities without the information. They proceeded to keep asking for the same information. All of this was communicated through email. I asked for a contact number to speak to a live person. That request was ignored.
