XX/XX/XXXX I received letter from CACi XXXX Consumer Adjustment Company Inc ) stating I owed over {$600.00}. When I called to get details, I was told it was for the balance billing of an XXXX visit on XX/XX/XXXX. I advised agency I never received a bill, had XXXX coverage at that time who would have been financially responsible. XXXXXXXXThe phone rep dvised me could file a dispute online. Thanked him and said I would send a certified letter for debt validation. Mailed debt validation letter and debt dispute letter by certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I have received no further correspondence or communication, but discovered CACi reported the debt to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX without validation or further communication to me. This was discovered during process of buying some land. Loan terms ( interest rate were raised due to negative reporting ). Since I had an HMO then, the XXXX charges would be between the provider and insurance company ; I am to be held harmless. If the XXXX had billed timely, I could have followed up with XXXX on payment ; however, after this length of time, I no longer have the coverage and it is outside the window for appeals. Further, TXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - Title 2 and Title 6 have a statute of limitations on medical billing and collections. This timeline is outside of both.
