Hello, I am writing to American Express to express my disappointment with a charge that occurred on XX/XX/2021 from XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$99.00}. This was for a subscription that I had cancelled prior. From XX/XX/2021 to XX/XX/2021, I was abroad in XXXX and did not have my cell phone on me, as I was using a XXXX phone number. I did have my laptop but did not receive any email correspondence from American Express. According to my phone records, American Express called on XX/XX/2021 and XX/XX/2021 to inquire about the above fraudulent charge. American Express also sent a text message on XX/XX/2021 regarding the above fraudulent charge. After I got back from XXXX, for some reason, American Express had allowed this charge to go through without my express approval and without discussing with me. Subsequently, I was charged a late fee on XX/XX/2021 and additional interest charges.
