My complaint is about American Pacific Mortgage ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, AZ XXXX ) assessing a flood insurance fee of {$2300.00}. However, when closing came there wasn't any mentioned on their part to get flood insurance in a area that doesn't flood. I have spoken to FEMA ( unfortunately ) and FEMA wants me to do an inspection and obtain an XXXX XXXX which cost {$4500.00}. Furthermore, I received a phone call from FEMA ( XXXX XXXX, 2021 ) indicating that my subdivision where my house is didn't require an XXXX XXXX. Go figure! Now, American pacific Mortgage wants me to pay that amount, but I will not. XXXX should have known I didn't have the flood insurance at closing, but XXXX waited 4.5 months to now assess me with this high flood insurance fee. As far as I know I am allowed to choose my own insurance. However, I did contact APM a couple of times about this and I never heard back from any one. I CAN NOT AFFORD to pay {$200.00} + XXXX + {$160.00} = {$1900.00} per month when XXXX should've told me this before closing. This is ridiculous!
