Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/2021 ( transaction date ) I made a one time purchase by phone from a TV commercial for One ( 1 ) bottle of XXXX XXXX " Powerful Weight Loss Supplement '' for {$6.00}. During that call the representative asked me for my name, mailing address, email address and credit card info. No other information was exchanged. I received a confirmation email indicating my purchase for a Grand Total of {$6.00}. A few days later a bottle of these pills arrived in a small box which had nothing in it but the bottle of pills -- no receipt, no other pertinent information. NO additional info had been provided regarding any future purchases, future billings, need to cancel anything or period of time in which to do it. To the best of knowledge we had reached the end of our transaction agreement. Then on XX/XX/2021 an additional charge of {$96.00} was added to my account from the same vendor identified as XXXX. In the course of future conversations with both the Complaint and Fraud Departments at Capital One Visa, I learned this was a drive-in market in West Virginia XXXX I knew I hadn't been in the state in many years, so I originally denied making the purchases. It was only after getting more info from a Capital One representative that I was able to connect this market with the purchase of the XXXX pills. I then acknowledged the XX/XX/XXXX purchase for {$6.00}, but have remained adamant throughout that I agreed to no further charges and no further merchandise was ever sent to me. I contacted Capital One on multiple occasions during the last few months and have had numerous conversations with both their Dispute and Fraud Departments. The charge would be removed, then added back on. No credible proof has ever been provided me corroborating any agreement to a further purchase or further charge, and I never had made any such agreement. ( See XX/XX/XXXX letter to me from Capital 1 which states : " Information we discovered leads us to believe you or another account user benefited from the transactions '' ). I did benefit from the original purchase of {$6.00}. I received nothing, nor did I expect to, for the additional purchase of {$96.00}. I have received several letters from Capital One which, though ambiguous, led me to believe the claim had been settled in my favor. As recently as XX/XX/2021, I received a letter from Capital One requesting further information. I completed the form and faxed it in along with the email receipt for the initial purchase of {$6.00}. Attempts I made to work directly with the vendor proved fruitless since they refused to discuss it and referred me back to Capital One. As recently as XX/XX/2021 I spoke with " XXXX '' who told me they were opening a " new dispute ''. On XX/XX/2021 I received a letter saying they ( Capital One ) can no longer help me as they have only 60 days to dispute a claim with the vendor.
