On XX/XX/2021 a letter was mailed to Equifax ( regular mail to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX ) requesting that they disclose the method they used to retrieve a Bankruptcy record that they have listed as a public record on my credit report. I advised in the letter that at this time I was simply seeking detail on their verification method. Equifax did not respond. Following the lack of response I went directly to XXXX XXXX : and the Bankruptcy Court noted on my credit report and in response both entities responded they could not verify the record themselves- and XXXX XXXX specifically as a result of not being able to verify the record - deleted the Bankruptcy record from their reporting. Following the response of both entities I submitted a formal dispute to Equifax on XX/XX/2021 ( mailed certified mail via tracking # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) which was delivered on XX/XX/2021. The dispute documentation included the notice from XXXX XXXX and the Bankruptcy court. Along with all pertinent letters. Equifax responded indicating the record would remain as the information was accurate. Equifax did not furnish any documentation to support their response or decision to leave the record unchanged - despite the evidence I sent to them showing the item could not be verified in accordance with FCRA requirements. On XX/XX/2021 I sent a follow-up notice to Equifax regarding their dispute response ( mailed certified mail via tracking # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). At this point I have given Equifax ample time to properly resolve my dispute and to review their error.
