I was a XXXX XXXX customer for about 5 years then in XX/XX/XXXX I sold the house and moved into my parents home until we could buy a house I contacted XXXX XXXX to close my account out then about 2 months later I started receiving bills for disconnecting early I told them that I have been a customer for 5 years and that I had sold the home which had the service they said they would take care of it. then I started getting collection letters from a debt collector for {$240.00}, So I called XXXX XXXX asking why am I getting these letters they said it was turned over to a debt collector, So my information was illegally obtain by the debt collector. I told them I sold the house and no longer needed service there so they tried to get me to move my service to my parents house I told them my parents had cable and they said that since I didn't transfer my service I owe the debt. We purchased a home in XX/XX/XXXX the collections was still on my credit report but had been removed from my experian credit report. I hear about this action all the time but never told I would be part of it. So the damage is already done but my report should be corrected.
