In XXXX, I had a credit account with Lane Bryant with which I bought a XXXX in store. The physical card was not sent to my correct address and somehow {$300.00} was charged to it. I closed the account and unfortunately had to pay that money after it went to collections. Debt was resolved in XXXX. I do not remember the name of the collection agency they used at the time. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a called from someone claiming to be XXXX XXXX XXXX and was threatened with legal action in the sum of over {$1000.00} if I did not attempt to settle or make payment plans for my Lane Bryant debt. They had my social security number and address, which was suspicious, as well as demanded that I confirm my social security number. Im afraid they may be trying to steal my identity, so Im filing this formal complaint as a record of my issue. I did call Lane Bryants credit bank, Comenity, and they have no record of me having any account except for the closed one in XXXX, and told me they were not pursuing any legal actions.
