On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from XXXX stating that I had a new hard inquiry on my credit report. Soon after, I received the same alerts from other credit bureaus, credit karma, bank, and credit card accounts. I looked into the alert and saw that I had a hard inquiry from Pentagon Federal Credit Union " PENTAGON FEDERAL CR UN recently checked your Experian credit file for an installment loan or new bank account. '' I then attempted to contact XXXX and Pentagon Federal on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX was closed for the XXXX XXXX holiday and Pentagon Federal never answered ( I tried the number provided by the creditor, listed on XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to dispute the inquiry via XXXX online but was informed I needed to call. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted XXXX and had the first representative place a Fraud Alert on my account to ensure that I am contacted if someone tries to obtain my credit report. I also filed a dispute with XXXX, over the phone, and they said I should see it removed from my account in the next XXXX hours. They then informed me that I should contact local police to file a report and submit a complaint through the government. Then, they said I need to upload proof that I had submitted complaints and tried to contact the creditor, Pentagon Federal. After I talked with XXXX, I tried Pentagon Federal at XXXX different phones numbers ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX - no answers or machines to leave messages ), via chat bot ( not a human so wasn't understanding my request ), and submitted a message via their Contact Us page ( have not heard back yet ). Then, I called my local police department to ask how to file a report and they instructed that I should come in and bring any documentation I have ( I am planning on doing this still ).
