Consumer Narrative

1. ( XXXX ) : Debt Collection Letter Received from Paragon Revenue Group for {$1000.00}. ( Attachment 1 ) 2. ( XXXX ) : Disputed Debt Using CFPB Template. Mailed My Letter Via USPS Return Receipt. ( Attachment 2 ) 3. ( XXXX ) : Per Return Receipt, Paragon Revenue Group Received my Debt Dispute Letter. ( Attachment 3 ) 4. ( XXXX ) : Paragon Revenue Group Failed to Respond to Debt Dispute Letter After 60 Days and I Filed a Formal Complaint with The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau ( CFPB ). ( Attachment 4 ) 5. ( XXXX ) : The CFPB Provided the Following Statement from Paragon Revenue Group : The referenced account has been cancelled from collections and has not affected the consumers credit report. ( Attachment 5, Page 2 ) 6. ( XXXX ) : I received an unsolicited email from XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) including a link to a 14-page contract I could not understand. The length of the contract, legalistic terminology, my concern over scammers, and the security of my personal medical data caused me to DECLINE. I was then prompted to call the doctors office. ( Attachment 6 ) 7. ( XXXX ) : I called the Doctors Office and spoke with a woman representative. She tried to coerce me into accepting. I politely declined and asked if there is anything I should know. The representative said the communication was between the doctor and I and she could not comment. We amicably ended the three-minute call. ( Attachment 7 ) 8. ( XXXX ) : I received two ( 2 ) identical debt collection letters, from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( DBA : XXXX XXXX XXXX ) in the same day, in two separate envelopes for the same alleged debt. Both XXXX XXXX XXXX Letters Were Dated ( XXXX ). ( Attachment 8 ) 9. ( XXXX ) : I went to my local Post Office to mail my Debt Dispute Letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX, via USPS Return Receipt Requested. Upon arriving at the USPS counter, The Mailman informed that the return address provided on the Notice to Collect A Debt, in both duplicate debt collection letters, was INCORRECT. I was provided a zip code of XXXX and the correct zip code is : XXXX. I believe this is malicious intent. In any instance both Debt Collection Letters were incorrect and would have negatively impacted my ability to remit payment for this alleged and untenable debt had the Mailman not made that pivotal discovery. He corrected the zip code. To recap, both letters had the incorrect mailing address for payment or for dispute. The XXXX XXXX XXXX agent who signed the Return Receipt, XXXX checked the USPS box confirming the zip code the mailman fixed to XXXX is the *correct* address. ( Attachment 9 & 9.b. ) 10. ( XXXX ) : I included a letter that stated how this debt had been cancelled, and is untenable, because the previous debt collector ( Paragon Revenue Group ) failed to verify the debt. ( Attachment 10 ) 11. ( XXXX ) : I received XXXX XXXX XXXX ( alleged ) debt validation letter dated ( XXXX ). The debt validation letter was generic, outlined all private medical information, was provided to a third party I have zero contract or obligation to work with, and they failed to all my questions as outlined in the CFPBs Debt Dispute Letter Template. ( Attachment 11 ) The CFPB and Paragon Revenue Group provided the following statement on XX/XX/2021 : The CFPB Provided the Following Statement from Paragon Revenue Group : The referenced account has been cancelled from collections and has not affected the consumers credit report.
