Please be apprised that you are in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In my opinion you have violated my rights : I understand you must complete a proper investigation within 30 days of receipt of my letter 15 USC 1681i ( a ). On XX/XX/2021, I received a copy of my credit report and found errors on it so I sent by certified mail ( receipt number : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX request to Equifax to verify/validate an unverifiable item reporting on my credit profile. The item reporting on my credit profile is an account from XXXX XXXX, which I have no idea what this even means. You claim the account in question was verified but did not show proof as requested. I do not know what resources your company used to verify the account. The burden of Proof is on you. In this complaint accompanies my Letter asking for Removal of Inaccurate Credit Information. This will be my second attempt reaching out to your company ( Equifax Information Services LLC ) I have already filed a complaint with the CFPB portal against Equifax on XX/XX/2021 asking for your company to please provide proof of verification, solely because of THE BURDEEN OF PROOF is on you, not me the consumer. On XX/XX/2021 your company responded stating : Thank you for submitting your complaint through the CFPB Complaint Portal. In your complaint, you indicated that there were inaccurate or incorrect items reporting on your credit file. We hope this resolves your concerns. If you have any additional questions, you may call XXXXEQUIFAX ( XXXX ) or you may visit www.myequifax.com. With myEquifax, you can create an account to manage your security freeze, add or remove fraud alerts, and initiate credit file disputes. Additionally you can access free Equifax credit reports and other products. Which I find to be a joke! How did this useless response verify the account in question? This is a generated response and your company once again ignoring my request! On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from your company stating : We are currently processing your previously submitted dispute for this accounts ( s ) : we will not be conducting further investigation into this particular accounts at this and so on. I feel your are taking my consumer rights away from me, saying that. All I asked for was proof of verification, something that I am entitled too, you have continued to ignore my requests for over a year. In the letter that you sent the unverifiable account in question I see was modified. I did not ask for a modification I asked for a deletion. Deletion, because your company has refused me over a year showing proof on how this account was verified. Equifax was given more than enough time to provide proof and you failed me for entirely too long. In this complaint accompanies a copy of your letter from your company stating you are no longer going to investigate further, which really saddens me. Again please REMOVE this unverifiable account from my CREDIT PROFILE. This is public record and I will continue to keep questioning this unverifiable account via CFPB. I will also continue to exercise my consumer 's rights against your company via CFPB. In this complaint accompanies the letter from your company telling me that you are no longer interested into investigating further into this account & the useless template response that serves no propose.
