Today XX/XX/2021 I received a call from what looked like a local number but apparently was a spoofed number to looked local to get me to answer it. I asked who it was and she said her name is XXXX XXXX from national credit adjusters. If they are a legitimate company it strikes me as odd that they are spoofing theyre real numbers and making it look like theyre calling from the XXXX county sheriffs department or a city of XXXX employee number just to get people to answer the phone. She asked for all of my personal information such as date of birth and Social Security number. I advised her I was not comfortable giving my information over the phone to a fake number and politely asked if she would send me any documents she wanted to discuss by mail and to no longer contact me by phone. She proceeded to start yelling demanding I give her a what she said was a new mailing address because she didnt have one on file for me and wanted my Social Security number. I again politely advised her I would not be confirming or giving any details over the phone and to please send me information by mail and no longer contact me by phone. She began to yell again get extremely rude use foul language and call me out of my name rudely. I then hung up the phone. I dont know who this company is, I dont have any business with them and I will certainly not be providing any of my personal details to a company who doesnt even use a real phone number when they call.
