I took out a loan from XXXX to pay off a high interest loan at XXXX. XXXX XXXX was supposed to send a check for {$8000.00} to Upgrade to pay off the loan. They sent it to Upstart in error. Upstart cashed the check on XXXX XXXX Check # XXXX the check was mailed to Upstart operations department po box XXXX XXXX XXXX California XXXX. I have spoken with XXXX XXXX and they admit to sending the check to the wrong bank but said since the other bank cashed the check there is nothing they can do. I have spoken to Upstart they said that since I do not now or have not ever had an account with them they can not do anything either. Both institutions have told me I need to speak to the other to get the issue taken care of. They have both also said I am out of luck there is no way to get the money back. Now I have to pay both the high interest loan and the one through XXXX XXXX. Someone at Upstart has pocketed the {$8000.00}. There has to be something that can be done to reverse the funds or find out where the money went so I am not stuck paying for the error made by two separate financial institutions.
