Consumer Narrative
I noticed that a recent credit report of mine included a thirty ( 30 ) day late payment that was reported on XX/XX/2021 and posted to my credit report on XX/XX/2021. This remark is in conjunction with a payment that was due to United Wholesale Mortgage ( UWM ) on XX/XX/2021. The payment of {$2200.00} was made on XX/XX/XXXX, however, the payment was reversed due to a bank error that I was never notified of on XX/XX/2021, just three ( 3 ) days before my next payment due date. This left very little time for proper notification and correction, as once a payment is thirty ( 30 ) days late, it is to be reported to the credit bureaus. Had it not been for a lack of awareness regarding this issue, I would have a perfect payment history, one that I take very seriously. I truly believe that this does not reflect my credit worthiness nor my commitment to repaying my debts. I was never directly notified of any issues regarding the above mentioned payment by United Wholesale Mortgage. After becoming aware of the derogatory remark on my credit report, I spoke with someone from UWM via telephone who advised me that I was attempted to be reached via telephone, however, those phone calls were only made to the " primary '' phone number, which at the time was ( XXXX ) XXXX, which is not my phone number. I was then advised that UWM is not allowed to leave any voicemails, indicating that no information regarding the payment was ever or would have ever been provided through a voicemail. I was also advised that a letter via US mail was mailed to my home address on XX/XX/2021. To this day, I still have not received that letter. Even if I had, the likelihood that I would have received it before the next payment due date of XX/XX/XXXX is low. I take my finances very seriously. As soon as I became aware of this reversed payment, I immediately made a payment of {$4600.00} that included all owed amounts, including the payment for XXXX as well as XXXX, as well as the late fees and reversal fees associated. I have never missed a payment, ever. This is a terrible mistake that I sincerely hope does not have to follow me for the next seven ( 7 ) years. I filed disputes with all major credit bureaus as well as with UWM. I provided descriptive information to UWM that indicated the lack of notification, however UWM has failed to take responsibility and has stated that they will not change the reported information.
