To Whom It May Concern, It was recently brought to my attention that Upstart had reported a late payment in XXXX of this year. I did not know about the late fee reporting because it does not display as late on my customer dashboard. However, this dispute is not about my customer dashboard being incorrect. In fact, my customer dashboard is correct. I entered into a hardship plan and Upstart deferred my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX payments. This dispute is because Upstart should not have reported a 30-days late payment to the credit bureaus because there was no XXXX payment. This payment was deferred. I have a copy of my hardship plan along with screenshots of my customer dashboard, which clear shows : 1. The XX/XX/2021 payment was deferred 2. There are no late payments on my account. I have talked to an Upstart agent over the phone and sent two emails requesting the removal of the incorrect 30-days late reporting. Upstart has refused to remove the incorrect late reporting. They suggested I report the dispute to the credit bureaus, which I have done. XXXX has approved my dispute and removed the late fee reporting from their records. I am awating XXXX 's decision and XXXX will take longer because I had to mail in my backup ( their online customer portal was down ). I XXXX for a living, so it is easy for me to provide backup for my dispute. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for someone who does not have the " ease '' of disputing an incorrect reporting. I have also submitted a complaint with the XXXX and now CFPB.
