I opened an American Express card in XXXX of this year. My XXXX payment was due on XX/XX/XXXX and I scheduled and made the payment electronically as I do with every merchant I deal with at my bank ( XXXX ). The payment was made as schedule, but Amex claims that didn't receive it on the XXXX. Because of this, they charged me a late fee of {$29.00}, interest of {$240.00} and cancelled XXXX points that I had earned with their card. I called their customer service to straighten everything out, but was refused help. I was told my the service rep and her supervisor that their system would not allow a reversal of the interest and that there was no one who could help me. They suggested I write a letter to the corporate office and refused to provide me with a path to resolution saying there was no one else I could call and no one to email. When I mentioned that misapplying this interest was paramount to theft, they became agitated and told me to write it in a letter and mail it to their corporate office. I have offered to share with them proof that the payment left my bank on XX/XX/XXXX, but they said they don't want it and there is nothing more that can be done. I feel two key issues have occurred that must be addressed. * Amex stole {$240.00} from me and refuse to give it back * When offered proof that the payment went out, Amex stonewalled my efforts to tget this resolved and basically told me to " get lost ''. They refused to help any further and would not give me any additional info to resolve my issue.
