Experian reports settled account the same as a late payment! This should be illegal and a violation of the FCRA. Upon reviewing my report through XXXX. I noticed my XXXX score from Experian was XXXX points less than the other bureaus. When I looked at the details, it shows the difference was that experian is reporting I had a recent late payment on my XXXX account thats less than 2 months old - I called Experian customer service and they confirmed the same information - that information is incorrect. I settled the lease end balance on my XXXX back in XX/XX/2021, that does not mean I was LATE! A recent late payment will have a huge negative impact to someones credit. Why is it ok for Experian to report a settled status the same as a late payment? This should be looked into and addressed immediately.
