Renton Collections , Inc. contacted me by phone on XX/XX/XXXX. The representative asked that I pay a debt for medical care. I told him I was unsure about owing this debt, so please send the bill to me. The representative continued to call me, despite my request. He called me two more times on or about XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX, XXXX. Again, I requested a written statement. Renton Collections did not provide a written statement until XX/XX/XXXX. ( see attached ). The notice was not provided in the five day window as required by section 809 ( a ), nor did it provide the information listed in 809 ( 3 ), ( 4 ), or ( 5 ). I disputed the debt and made two written requests for proper validation of the debt after being contacted again by Renton Collections. I have proof of delivery of my requests. My requests were ignored for over a year. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter ( postmarked XX/XX/XXXX ) from XXXX XXXX at Renton Collections, enclosed in the letter was a copy of a document.This information was not provided during the five day window as required by section 809 ( a )., and the letter included a phone number never used by the original creditor. More importantly, the statement clearly indicates that I had a {$0.00} balance. Renton Collections also knowingly failed to comply with Washington state law RCW 19.16.250 that requires debt validation notifications include a very specific list of items. Many of those items were not included in any communication I received regarding this matter. Renton Collections Inc. has not complied with federal or state law, because this is not a valid debt. They are sending documents to me and using legal language that do not actually satisfy their legal obligations under federal or state law, but are designed to deceive and intimidate me into paying money that I do not owe. I would like this harassing behavior to be exposed and stopped.
