XX/XX/2021 : I was served with a XXXX Summons/Notice to Appear for Pretrial Conference ( COVID ) by Marcadis/Singer. The Notice stated : " You are hereby notified that you are required to appear on the XXXX day of XXXX. 2021 at 2pm for a Pretrial Conference. " PLEASE GO TO XXXX [ XXXX ] TO CHECK THE INDIVIDUAL JUDGE 'S SITE FOR INSTRUCTIONS DUE TO COVID-19 '' The Notice to Appear nor any of the documents I was served with gave any instruction on how to appear for the Pretrial Conference. I went to the link, and realized I needed to Marcadis/Singer PA to get more information. I was only able to speak with a representative from their " Collections Dept '' and she instructed me to contact the courthouse to find out how to appear for the online pretrial conference. I was confused that the attorney 's office would not and could not give me information on how to appear at the hearing. I then contact the Court to find out exactly how to attend this online hearing. I was told to find the " meeting room '' for Division H. I checked, and double checked the meeting room online weeks prior to the pretrial hearing in order to be prepared the day of the hearing. XXXX XXXX, 2021 : I called Marcadis/Singer PA the day before the hearing to make sure the hearing was still being held. Again, I was only able to speak to a representative in their " Collections Dept '' and she told me that the hearing was still scheduled as per the summons. XXXX XXXX, 2021 : I logged into the online hearing link 30 minutes before the 2pm hearing time so that I would early. I waited until 3pm and no one showed up. I tried logging in to different divisions to see if I might be in the wrong place, but no one was online at all. I called Marcadis/Singer PA twice during the supposed hearing to ask them where the attorney 's were and they told me " i will have someone call you back. '' No one ever called me back. XXXX XXXX, 2021 : I tried reaching an alternative department at Marcadis/Singer PA because I still had not heard back. I left voicemail. I did not receive a call back. End of XX/XX/2021 : I received a Default Final Judgement from Marcadis/Singer PA claiming " The Defendant failing to appear for the Pretrial Conference on XXXX, 2021 and the Plaintiff filing the appropriate pleadings in this matter ... '' After reading this, I attempted to contact Marcadis/Singer PA one last time. I left voicemail and again, did not receive a call back. Marcadis/Singer PA has set up an unworkable situation in two important ways : - The pretrial conference information was unclear confusing and had no clear directions on how to attend. Once I was in attendance and realized no one was there, their office was not helpful in getting me the information I needed to successfully attend the conference. - It is impossible to be in communication with anyone at their law firm, thereby no solution can be met that is fair to both parties. It is my belief that they purposefully and willfully set up an unworkable situation so that defendants are forced into a Default Final Judgement.
