Contacted Equifax on numerous ocassions regarding hard inquiries that were unauthorized. Both times, I was told i had to file a police report in order to get inquiries removed. Spoke to Officer XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX can not file a police report for inquiries unless a fraudulent account was opened. It is unfair to the consumer to be given fraudulent information by a credit reporting agency. It seems deceptive and puts the consumer at a disadvantage. Credit reporting agencies should not make it so hard to dispute inquiries. I have also asked for proof to validate the inquiry and Equifax refuses to provide. I'm sure this is happening to hundreds if not thousands of Americans but because nothing is done, they stop reporting this grievance. This information has damaged my credit report and ability to received other credit products.
