I was charged for a hotel room that I did not stay in. It was smelly and I asked for another room. They showed me one room. It was just as bad. The girl told me that they were all same after I asked her if she could put me a better room. We walked back and she told me she was not authorized to give me a refund. Only the General Manager could give me a refund. I was instructed to call the next day for a refund.. Long story short the name she gave me was not the managers name I called three times as instructed by them for a refund.When I was leaving.the desk clerk told me to go down to the XXXX down the street and try them. My credit card company Capital One sent me two letters that the hotel room charge was taken off, I just received another letter from Capital One that they put the charge back because the hotel did lie and said I was there .The Credit Card company is putting me through XXXX with taking the charge off, then putting it back on after I jumped through hoops to submit a bunch of paperwork and spoke on the phone a half dozen times explainting this to them.. I submitted my documents of staying XXXX miles down the road at a XXXX. Submitted a bunch of documents. I am cancelling my credit card that I took out in 1993. It is a XXXX XXXX Credit Card and the bank connected is Capital One. My XXXX XXXX is XXXX. I pay my bills. I will not pay for something I did not get. No room, just lies.. It was a scam. A total scam. I got no accommodations. I also filed a report to the XXXX and they informed me they contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX SC twice and got no answer back from the XXXX XXXX XXXX My credit card company said it is end of story I owe {$73.00} and I got ZERO in return, no room, no accommodations and said they will send me the bill and I refuse to pay for something I did not receive. I never stayed in the room, never brought one piece of luggage in the room. If they put the charge on my card with my next bill I told them I refuse to pay it. I was scammed and Capital One is allowing this scam. I did not book ahead. I was there in person and if the room is not adequate they always refund me or find me a room. Not tell me go down the street and I will have to call for a refund.. The woman told me the rooms are all the same and I would be issued a refund from the General Manager. They lied and I refuse to pay it on my credit card period. Capital One refused to protect me from a scam.
