Homeward Mortgage is a company that offers to buy houses for you with their cash then turn around and sell it right back to you at a 1.9 % fee. We entered into a signed contract with them in XXXX XXXX to buy a house and a vacant lot adjacent to the house in XXXX. All throughout all of our negotiations and asking for documents there was always a vacant lot attached to this house. The day before we were set to close on the deal ( after lying to us about getting a appraisal done ) I was told they could not finance the house because of the adjacent vacant lot. The documents we signed had both addresses on them for the contract. This caused the sellers to back out of deal ( they knocked XXXX off because we were willing to buy both properties ) and we lost our earnest money plus inspection fees and all sorts of other expenses. I asked Homeward to refund our earnest money paid to the seller, since they backed out and they refused. So not only did we loose the sale of the house and property but we are out over {$2500.00}
