On XX/XX/2021, I received a Bank Statement from Wells Fargo Bank, for an account I never opened. I immediately called the 800 number, and after many department switches, I was sent to what I believed was the Fraud Department. I spoke to someone in that department who gave me the following ID Theft # : XXXX. I was also told to file a report with the FTC, which I did and received a number from them, and to place a Fraud and Security freeze on the 3 credit bureaus, which I immediately did. I also decided to file a Police report with my local Police Department, which I did and received a copy of the report. I asked the person I talked to, to please send me confirmation of this complaint and to please close any accounts with my name on them. I thought that was all I needed to do, however... On XX/XX/2021, I received another bank statement, dated XX/XX/2021. I again, called the 800 number only to be told I had a wait of up to 1 hour. I found that to be unacceptable, so I decided to write a letter to Wells Fargo on XX/XX/2021 asking, again, to close this account and send me confirmation of this. I included my Police Report and FTC ID Theft report, as well as my e-mail address and phone number It is now XX/XX/2021 and I have not received anything from them as of today. The address on this account is an old address from 7 years ago.
