Consumer Narrative

To Whom It May Concern, On XX/XX/2021, an automatic scheduled payment to Volkswagen Credit XXXX. was debited from my bank account. I didn't realize another unauthorized charge had already occurred, rendering my account {$40.00} short of the full VW Credit lease payment amount for that month. Though I made the deposit in time, the automatic payment was ultimately returned on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/2021 I logged onto my VW Credit account and scheduled a one-time payment to satisfy my XXXX payment, which finally cleared my bank account on XX/XX/2021. After observing the debit from my bank account, I thought everything had been taken care of and didn't feel it was necessary to contact VW Credit. On XX/XX/2021 I received an alert from my bank that another attempt was being made to debit my monthly lease payment for XXXX by Volkswagen Credit. Since the payment was already satisfied on XX/XX/XXXX, this additional ACH authorization put my bank account at a pending negative balance. I immediately contacted the customer service line for VW Credit XXXX and was told by their support specialist that they couldn't stop this additional ACH authorization, even though my XXXX payment was already satisfied. I then asked to speak to a manager who informed me that their hands were indeed tied and I'd have to contact my bank to place a stop payment. I even uploaded an official letter addressed to VW Credit, stating that I was revoking authorization for an ACH debit from my account. The manager at VW Credit again stated that even though they could see that my XXXX payment had been satisfied, they were without the ability to do anything about this transaction and couldn't guarantee that this automatic payment wouldn't be attempted a XXXX time at a future date. Since neither the specialist nor manager from VW Credit could assist me, I asked to have the contact information for their executive office, so that I may file an official complaint. The manager refused to provide this information to me, stating that they would provide their corporate office with my information and that I would be contacted within XXXX to XXXX business hours. So, in the meantime, though I did my best to ensure my XXXX payment was provided to VW Credit, I'm now left without any available funds in my bank account, due to their inability to cancel a pending automatic payment.
