Due to COVID-19 problems, my husband who lost his job because his employer closed shop was under the deferment plan. My mortgage was sold to XXXX from Iberia Bank. I started paying XXXX who used XXXX for servicing. They take months to credit your account since they will not allow me to pay online like Iberia. Because of health problems and the layoffs, I applied for a grant to bring my mortgage up to date. Due to the lag time of crediting my payments and the late fee they claimed come from my previous mortgage company, I can not get the grant money I was awarded because of a {$10000.00} cap. The {$10000.00} has to bring the mortgage current. They take literally weeks to credit payments. The late fee from my mortgage was addressed in 2012, where I showed the company that I did not owe this amount and even filed a complaint with the credit bureau. I proved that the payments were on time, and that they were taking too long to credit my account ( I started sending certified mail for proof ) so once they initiated online payment, I did not have to address this issue. XXXX says I owe {$3900.00} in late fees. that impossible and not collectible. Iberia Bank said I did not owe this and then they transfer this loan to First Horizon. No one tried to research this or to think for themselves of why would I be allowed to carry a {$4000.00} late for at {$100.00} a pop
