On Monday XXXX XXXX, 2021, I attempted to see if I prequalified for the OPORTUN XXXX Credit Card. On the website, www.oportun.com it states explicitly that checking for prequalification will not require a hard inquiry which would impact your credit score. It explicitly states that only a Soft Pull would be performed! However, after supplying my personal information which was required to confirm my identity, I received a text to my phone with a link to confirm my identity and upload documents. Then I was led to page that said my application and documents were under review. I never submitted any documents nor was I ever told if I was prequalified or not! Yet I was then notified by XXXX that a hard inquiry had been made on my credit file! I did not authorize any hard inquiry. Oportun XXXX Credit Card is engaging in predatory lending practices!
