Around XXXX of XXXX I bought a rug from XXXX XXXX on my XXXX XXXX credit card - a card that incidently has a 12 month no interest plan. The rug was to be delivered in a couple of weeks. I continually received emails that the delivery was delayed. Finally in XXXX of XXXX I bought a different rug and cancelled the XXXX XXXX order. However an attempted delivery was made and I refused delivery of the rug. I did not realize that the company sent a charge for the delivery of the rug and I spent a great deal of time working with the credit card company to have the charge reversed which they did in XX/XX/XXXX. I am now in the process of refinancing my mortgage and my XXXX XXXX has dropped significantly so I checked my credit report and found that I am showing a 30 day late payment for XX/XX/XXXX. The report also shows no payment made to the account after XXXX of XXXX - the month I paid off my prior purchase which I paid off in 12 months without incurring interest. It also shows a XXXX balance for XX/XX/XXXX - proof that the charge was reversed without me making a payment. This item should not have appeared on my credit report. I have disputed this item with all three credti reporting agencies and have disputed it twice with Experian already. Experian has responded to both disputes stating that I was indeed 30 days late - aparently because that is what is showing up in the public record. The customer service repersentative for Experian stated that I should dispute directly with the credit card company which I attempted to do. The company ( XXXX XXXX ) acquired the XXXX XXXX card a few months ago and the representative says that they have no record of the charges or the history of the account prior to the acquisition. They say that I need to contact the original company that provided the XXXX XXXX card. I called the back of my credit card and it sends me to XXXX XXXX so I have no way of knowing who to contact and how to contact them. Please help me!
