Commonwealth financial systems sent me a letter notifying me of a debt they were collecting which was a very old debt that fell off my credit record. They said I had 30 days to dispute this letter. The letter was dated XX/XX/. There was an amount offered as a settlement, and just today I was notified, that my credit Reading plunged 48 points because they already had put this on my credit. I am livid. This is XX/XX/XXXX and I havent even had this letter two weeks and its on my credit record already. Im thinking about contacting an attorney to sue them. I attempted to file a dispute with the credit bureau and they would not allow me to do it, it said that I had contact the Collection agency. This is not going to fall off my credit, until I pay this debt. They did not even give me the chance to dispute it in writing before they reported it to the credit bureaus.
