Consumer Narrative
We inherited this property and its mortgage when my father in law passed away. The mortgage holder, Selene Finance, stated that we could just continue to pay the mortgage. In or around XX/XX/XXXX, they offered us a forbearance package because we were behind due to Covid and desired to keep our family home. We completed all necessary documentation pertaining to this. We received notice that the forbearance had been approved and we signed ACH documentation granting permission for the payments to be automatically drafted from our checking account. NOT ONCE has Selene Finance drafted a payment from the account or offered reasoning as to why this was not done. Once we recognized that said payments were not being withdrawn from our account we began to mail them checks on the account. These were NOT posted to the account. We were not notified that they were NOT being posted to the account. After unsuccessfully attempting to contact them both via telephone and in writing, I finally got someone one the phone. I was initially told that the forbearance was missing signatures but XXXX ( representative whom I spoke with ) refused to tell me WHOSE signatures were missing! When I asked why we were NOT notified of this I was informed that they had sent notification to the estate attorney, who has already told them the estate has been settled and she is no longer on the case. Said attorney did NOT forward anything to us as she is no longer getting paid because the estate has been settled. I requested to speak with XXXX XXXX in the XXXX XXXX department because this is the signature on the letter sent to us. XXXX REFUSED to transfer me to XXXX XXXX. I essentially got NO WHERE with this representative. So, I called back and spoke with XXXX, yet another representative, who stated that we were in default and nothing could be done to help us. I asked him to transfer me to XXXX XXXX and was told that XXXX XXXX was at lunch but he would leave a message for him to call me. I have NOT received a call back from XXXX XXXX. Dealing with this company has been an utter nightmare since my father in law passed away in XXXX. Our desire is to KEEP our home! We have jumped through every whoop they have demanded and we are still be jerked around! They simply want our home! They do not do the things they state they will do such as automatically draft payments, post payments made on the account in a timely fashion, or work with their clientele. We NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY! ( You and Selene Finance have my consent to speak with my wife : XXXX XXXX, pertaining to this matter ).
