I have called Capital One Auto finance 7 times on XX/XX/XXXX. They can not find any record of the loan financing I got from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( A brand they operated from approx XXXX to XXXX. ) I need to obtain my car title and the XXXX in XXXX will not provide it to me as the lien from 20+ years ago is still in place. The people I spoke to at Capital One Auto Finance will not let me talk to a supervisor or escalation unit as I can not provide my account number. I have provided my SSN and the vehicle VIN, but as they can not find a record they said " there is nothing we can do. '' The car still works. I have a young person who can use it, but in order to transfer title to their name and have them obtain insurance I need my title so we can transfer title. I financed a car with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in the year XXXX. I think I paid it off in XXXX. I need a title for the car and can't get it as XXXX XXXX XXXX still shows as lienholder. The company can not find record of my vehicle under my SSN, name or the VIN number. Where to we go from here? My understanding is that the XXXX in IL ( where I live ) will accept either a lien release letter or : Lien contract stating that the lien has been paid in full. Must be countersigned by an authorized representative of the company. Looking forward to hearing from someone who can problem solve this situation vs what I've been told which is " we have no record, so there is nothing that can be done '' Thank you,
