I tried to fix the incorrect name on my credit report. I have already sent out copies of SSN card, W-2 form, driver 's license, passport etc. Each time I got different response : 1. first few times they told me to send copies of ssn card, driver 's license etc which are exactly the same documents I have sent out. 2. then I called them and operator told me that despite sending out the documents, I had to call them in person in order to fix the name. This was never mentioned in their result letter. The operator told me that it would be fixed this time. This happened within a month after sending out docs. 3. then my name was still not fixed after a long time. I called again. This time another operator told me that the result was " SSN card is for work only ''. I pointed out that despite of that I did send out W-2 as well. The operator admitted that W-2 can be used for SSN purpose as well and tole me it be good this time. 3. then my name was still not fixed after one month, this time a 3rd operator told me that my documents are too old that they could not use. It has to be within 60 days. She asked me to send the exactly same doc again. But she had no answer when I ask why did she think the same story wouldn't repeat after I send docs again. Each time each operator told me different contradicting information. The whole process is delayed and ruined by their mistake but all they want to do is to ask me to repeat exactly the same process with no fix.
