Consumer Narrative

I have tried to contact XXXX to fix a mess up on my credit report since the early part of the year. I have sent 2 letters to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX with no response. I called the company numerous times and keep being told to send letters. I explain I have sent them letters and they claim they have not gotten them even tho 1 was signed for. So on my credit report, they have some inaccurate information. It shows that I have late payments in XXXX of XXXX and XXXX / XX/XX/XXXX. I called XXXX in XXXX XXXX and explained that we were notified that due to covid they were furloughing some workers and we would go on unemployment until work picked back up. I explained to them that unemployment told us that they were understaffed and there was a long wait to start receiving checks. I was told that I did not have to worry and because I called in prior to missing a payment that when I started getting the checks I could catch up on payments without being marked as late. I was also told they would mark my account as late due to covid 19. So as soon as the checks started coming in around the beginning of XXXX I paid up what was missed. I was called to come back to work in XXXX, we worked about 3 weeks and we were again furloughed. In XXXX with the new strain, we were furloughed again when businesses started closing and again I notified them. The person I spoke with again told me that they understood and to make the payment when unemployment started back which I did. Then in late XXXX we were furloughed again so I notified them and they said they would mark the account as such. So once I was back to work full-time I paid that account off. In the comments section, it says account canceled by the creditor, and I don't see how as I continue to use the account. matter fact I have things on that same account that are being paid on. I tried to fix this with them several times. I kept getting transferred from one area to another. I finally contacted an attorney and the Mississippi department of banking and the attorney is looking into possible litigation because these payments were late but no fault of my own.
