I have called Navient twice to request that any overpayments of my loan be applied to the lower balance of two loans. On both times, I was assured that would occur, and the lower amount loan would now be paid off. Instead, the amount was applied to the higher balance despite repeated attempts on my part to change the allocation. I was assured that the allocation had been paid. The lower balance loan would be completely paid off by now if they had done so. Instead, the amount I am paying towards the balance has DECREASED and my payment is now only 200 % of the interest rate. It is dramatically extending the life of the loan, and it is difficult to view that as a casual oversight as it is in their interest to continue to collect interest for a larger period of time. The balance is small, but they will not listen to me or reason with me and they actually REMOVED the option to self-service and direct overpayment allocations.
