I made a {$300.00} payment to Capital One for my credit card on XX/XX/2021. Capital One took the money from my bank account but didnt apply it to my card. I called and asked what was going on and they said there is a 26 day hold on the payment. I asked why and they said they didnt know. They said that holds like this usually occur when a there has been a late payment, a returned payment or if the funds were paid using a new checking account. None of these apply to my case. Ive been a Capital One customer for 13 years and have never been late, nor have I ever had a returned payment. I pay my card off every month and have been using the same checking account for years. They could not provide a reason for the hold and I can not use my card now. They took my money and didnt provide a service I paid for. How is this even legal?
