Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX I reached out to XXXX XXXX in regards to dispute this alleged debt. The rep I spoke with said the company mailed verification last XX/XX/XXXX to an address I know longer live at and have not lived there for over 12 years. This third party debt collector said they received my information from XXXX XXXX without my permission knowledge or consent. XXXX XXXX is in direct violation of the FDCPA. An agent said this is the first contact they have with me about this alleged debt. According to the FDCPA XXXX has 5 Days to send validation of this debt. The agent for XXXX did not ask for an updated address the agent also hung up on me and told me to call back in a few days to dispute it. This company is reporting on an ALLEGED DEBT THAT NEVER BEEN VERIFIED. I ask that you take this off my credit report. I called XXXX to give them permission to respond to CFPB complaint. The only thing XXXX was interested in while on the phone was collecting not verifying any information. The credit reporting agencies are now in direct violation of the FCRA. This is a private matter between myself and XXXX XXXX. In compliance with the FCRA you must verify all accounts to be true. Excuse me but this third party debt collector do note have my correct address or phone number to contact me to verify/validate this debt. I only was made aware from checking my credit report. According to the FCRA I must be notified in writing to opt out of negative reporting and I did not receive any notice to opt out. This account is causing me a great deal of stress.
