I went to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, FL XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about a new car purchase and returning my lease. I spent quite some time with a gentleman named XXXX XXXX in sales. He showed me a purchase order and eventually I was escorted to the Finance office to discuss prices. When speaking to the finance coordinator, XXXX XXXX XXXX, we discussed possible different finance options but were just playing with numbers as I had not agreed on the price of the car. I specifically told him not to run my credit, since I saw on his computer that he had pulled up all my information from a prior vehicle purchase. He held up his hands and said " I haven't done anything yet, not until you tell me. '' In the end, I did not like the deal they were offering so I left. I recieved an email notification from XXXX XXXX that there was a new hard Inquiry on my credit report. They used my SSN on file to run my credit prior to even telling me! I did not authorize it. I returned again to the dealership today XX/XX/XXXX to complain. When I spoke again to the finance gentleman, XXXX XXXX XXXX, I reminded him that I had said NOT to run my credit when I was in the office with him, and he admitted that he had ran my credit using the SSN on file PRIOR to my even walking into the office, while I was still with the sales consultant, XXXX. I told him I never authorized him to do so, and that I had not even been sure I wanted to purchase a car. I even went on remind him that yesterday I had said " Don't pull my credit yet! '' and at that time he denied having pulled it. He simply apologized and said it " must have been a misunderstanding. ''
