I bought a car and used Capital One to finance. I set up auto pay after my initial payment online and thought i was done with it. Turns out, it never went through, they never received it, or whatever excuse they claim, it was 100 % done on my end. They wait til i am two months late to even ATTEMPT to make contact and let me know i was late, meanwhile they are hurting my credit. I called, they explained, i calmly set up auto pay on the phone, took care of the back payments and asked if there was a resolution. They said i could dispute it with their office, which we know is automated and they will not help a single father like me when it was a mistake, i believe on their part, but apparently on mine. That one late pay docked my credit score 100 points!! I went from about to get a loan to looking for a place to live, all because they wanted to rack up late fees, not contact me, and then deny me when i asked for a resolution? Seems unreasonable and unethical to me.
