Consumer Narrative

Had mortgage with PenFed Credit Union which we refinanced with them ( same company ). They held the old mortgage and are now holding the refinanced mortgage. Closed on the refinance on XX/XX/2021. We were charged 19 days of prepaid interest for XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX and paid 19 days of interest on the closing statement ( XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX ). That is a total of 38 days of interest for a month with 31 days. When the escrow balance was refunded ( check received XX/XX/2021 ) PenFed refunded 2 days of interest paid on the old mortgage. They still owe us at least 5 days of interest. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX about this and have gotten no where after many hours of trying to have them deal with this. I have included the latest email from the person at PenFed who said he would get back to me on XX/XX/XXXX. He has never gotten back to me and the only time that he did was to respond to me asking what the status is. I have included that email with the back up I am attaching. Note : the same company held the original mortgage and now holds the refinanced mortgage.
