Consumer Narrative
I was tricked into Wells Fargo 's mortgage program. My mortgage officer over-promised on discounts but can't keep her promises. Most importantly she didn't lock in my rate intentionally. She had more 14 days to lock in my rate after receiving the executed contract but she didn't do it. Now my interest rate has gone up from 2.875 % to 3.125 % and that I have to pay more on my mortgage. If I want to have my interest rate at 2.875 %, I have to come up with more money to buy more points. My closing date is approaching on XX/XX/XXXX and I don't have time to find a new lender as my apartment lease is also about to end. I don't know what to do?
