Reached settlement with company to forego all outstanding debts on my credit card account after paying {$7000.00} in three instalments. Letter enclosed. Company received payment, and after a month or so turned the account for collection of about {$5000.00} to a collection agency who started calling ( number provided by the company without permission ) me for the debt. Agency was informed debt has been settled with the company per settlement letter. However it reported to credit agency as charge off. As a result my credit score dropped by about 30 points. Company has been evasive and thanked me for trying to pay the debt, which I have not done at all ( it has been settled already ). My credit score has not recovered because agency/company has not removed the charge off amount, it remains a black spot on my credit report. Proof of payment, my letter and part of credit report is attached.
