Consumer Narrative

on XX/XX/2021, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX placed a collection on my Trans Union credit report in the amount of {$1500.00} in which I have no clue what it is for. I have never heard of this company nor have I ever been contacted by this company. I have researched them and have found that they have scammed many people. I have filed a dispute with TransUnion and I have also filed a complaint with the XXXX. I want the collection removed from my credit report immediately and I also want them to refrain from putting the collection back on my credit report in the future. TransUnion somehow verified XXXX & XXXX XXXX collection as accurate which I know is not the case. I feel TransUnion did not do a fair an accurate investigation into this matter. If TransUnion did do an accurate and fair investigation into this matter they would have learned that the debt that they are saying belongs to me with XXXX & XXXX XXXX is way past the legal time in which they can report it on my credit report because legally a collector can not report a debt on your report when it is past the time allowable for reporting the debt under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). The FCRA states that delinquent accounts can appear on your credit report for 7 to 7 and a half years from the date you defaulted on the original account. If a collection agency threatens to report a debt on your credit report beyond the legally permissible amount of time, you may have a claim under the FCRA for violating your rights. I would like TransUnion to verify the date of the originally delinquency with XXXX & XXXX XXXX from the original creditor. Just don't verify my name and address like they did in the original so called investigation. TransUnion did not do me justice by keeping an inaccurate collection on my report. I am asking that TransUnion permanently remove the inaccurate information from my report.
